Cancun, Q.R. — Two cars were deemed write-offs after a Wednesday morning crash in Cancun. Chac Mool Avenue motorists reported the car crash to authorities around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.
While it is not officially clear who hit who, witnesses reported seeing the two vehicles hit at a high rate of speed, sending one of the cars into circles. The accident is reported to have been caused when one of the drivers blew threw an intersection.
One of the involved vehicles was hit in the rear so hard part of the vehicle fell apart. The hit car was left with at least three popped windows, a passenger door frame that fell off and a back tire that completely fell away.
The car’s front tire was also left askew. The back bumper, among other pieces, was part of the debris left around the scene. The second car involved received extensive damage to its front end along with at least one popped window.
One young passenger was treated at the scene for minor bumps and bruises but not taken to hospital. There were no reports of other injuries.
