Tulum, Q.R. — A Tulum taxi driver found himself nose-down in a highway ditch after swerving to avoid an animal. On Tuesday, the Tiburones del Caribe Taxi Driver requested assistance after driving off the road.
The accident happened around 1:00 a.m. on a section of Tulum-Cobá highway. The taxi driver did not say what the animal was, only that he made a sudden swerve to avoid hitting it, which landed him in the ditch.
The driver was heading toward the town of Tulum at the time of the incident. There were no passengers in his unit. He was treated at the scene by medical personnel for minor injuries. The front of his vehicle suffered damage.
