Tulum, Q.R. — A Tulum motorcyclist was killed Tuesday night after slamming into a parked vehicle. Emergency personnel responded to the accident near the entrance to the Las Palmas subdivision just before 8:00 p.m.
Authorities detail the driver of the black Veracruz-plated Italika motorcycle slammed into the back of a parked pickup truck. The driver of the truck, who happened to be outside his vehicle, called Emergency 911 to report the accident.
Paramedics arrived, but were unable to do anything for the unnamed victim. There was no word on what caused the motorcycle driver to hit the parked truck, or if the heavy rains played a part in the accident.
Elements of the National Guard were called to the scene, however, the case was handed over to the State Attorney General’s Office. Transit agents ensured the removal of the vehicles.
