Cancun, Q.R. — Flames shooting out of the engine forced a Cancun driver from his bus late Tuesday night. Municipal Police and city firemen were at the scene along Kabah Avenue in response to reports of the fire.
The driver was reportedly traveling along the city avenue around midnight when flames suddenly appeared. It happened so fast that he did not have time to pull over. The burning bus was left in the middle of the avenue for local authorities to deal with.
Sidewalk bystanders watched as the fire spread to toward the front of the bus. It did not take long before the entire unit was engulfed.
The bus was from a private company and not a Cancun public transport bus. The driver had finished for the day and was traveling without any passengers when the engine caught fire.
There were no injuries. The bus was a write off.
