Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Approximately 100 new street lights are being installed in the Salina Grande circuit on mainland Isla Mujeres. With the aim of promoting safety and well-being, Isla Mujeres Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde, led the laying of the first stone of the project.
She explained that the new 100 lights will illuminate the perimeter walkway of Salina Grande. The project includes the placement of 1,995 linear meters of public lighting and the installation of 100 lamps.
These actions are added to the more than 1,200 new LED lights that have already been installed in various neighborhoods of the municipality, she reported.
“We have the responsibility to guarantee that those who live here and those who visit us can enjoy a safe and prosperous environment. Therefore, the decision was made to completely rebuild the electrical circuit perimeter of the Salina Grande,” said Atenea Gómez Ricalde.
The Mayor expressed her commitment to the well-being and progress of Isla Mujeres and highlighted that in her government, thanks to transparency in the management of public resources and healthy finances, it is possible to carry out these public projects.
“Our commitment is that the people’s money is applied to projects for the people,” said the Mayor.
The event to lay the first stone for public lighting brought together municipal directors, councilors, special guests and citizens in general, highlighting the collaboration between different sectors.
