Mexico City, Mexico — Authorities in Mexico City have reported on the arrest of Silvano “N”, the alleged regional head of a criminal group with a presence in the states of Jalisco and Zacatecas.
According to the Ministry of National Defense, Silvano “N” was picked up on November 13, however, the arrest was only made public this week. He was arrested after an investigation and inter-institutional coordination work carried out with several levels of governments.
Silvano “N” is believed responsible for the homicides of ministerial, state, municipal and road safety police officers in the Zacatecas state. He is also being linked to the burning of vehicles and road blocks on August 27, 2022, in the municipalities of Fresnillo, Enrique Estrada, Calera, Zacatecas, Villanueva and Jerez, Zac.
From their investigation among the various authorities, it was determined that Silvano “N” was sheltering in Tequila, Jalisco, integrating a joint force made up of the Mexican Army, the National Guard and the Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection.
Through a citizen complaint, police were able to locate him in his vehicle on November 13, which lead to a search. He was “detained in flagrante delicto by military personnel,” after the search revealed approximately 2,000 fentanyl pills, two loaded weapons, chargers and cash.
