Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — The Puerto Morelos Town Council has approved the modifications to the Annual Investment Program for the 2022 fiscal year, which will allow budget allocations to priority projects in Leona Vicario.
During the last meeting, which was headed by the Councilor Juana María Chacón Canché on behalf of Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz, members approved the modifications that will allow municipal projects move forward.
On the annual agenda is the remodeling of the main park with a cost of around 10.9 million and the remodeling of the kiosk for around 1.8 million. It will also include the resurfacing of Guillermo Prieto Street (La Vaquerita).
Approximately 3.1 million peso will be spent on repairing Guillermo Prieto Street, money that will come from the Fund of Contributions for the Strengthening of Municipalities and the Territorial Demarcations of the Federal District.
Council members approved the budget since, they say, the park is the main meeting area for locals.
“The construction of a new kiosk is required and whose work as a whole with the renovation of the park has a duration of at least 20 years,” said councilman Tirso Esquivel Ávila. The council members did not state when this work will begin.
