Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A weekend operation by police resulted in two Playa del Carmen establishments being shut down. Over the weekend, police closed two bars, one located along Fifth Avenue and another along the Federal 307 highway.
Both bars were closed down after authorities located narcotics. Rounds to Playa del Carmen bars were being made Friday night when police found drugs inside two of their visited nightclubs during the early morning hours of Saturday.
Nearly 200 bags of street drugs that included pot, hash, LSD and a variety of cocaine products were seized from the two clubs. While authorities announced the two bars were shut, they did not announce arrests.
