Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A taxi driver from the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río union of Playa del Carmen was arrested on drug charges Thursday. Municipal police made the arrest outside a convenience store in the city’s center.
Police detected the driver had an evasive attitude, accelerating at the sight of authorities. He was pulled over and inspected, which is when police located several street doses of drugs.
On his person, in his shirt pocket among his items, police found bags of marijuana and three types of cocaine.
The 35-year-old taxi driver was arrested and taken before the State Attorney General’s Office.
