Cancun, Q.R. — One of two Cancun taxi drivers shot early Tuesday has died. The targeted shooting happened in SM 251 of Cancun Tuesday morning when one driver arrived to relieve the other.
The shooting happened in the Paseos del Mar area around 2:00 a.m. According to preliminary reports, the two men where pursued by others in an old model Tsuru from their place of work exchange before being shot at in Paseos del Mar.
At least eight shots were reported fired. The driver of the taxi was killed. The relief driver was injured.
Police sectioned off the area while they collected evidence. Authorities have not reported the arrests of any suspects.
