Mexican suspects escorted to Texas to face criminal charges

Mexico City, Mexico — Two men wanted in different Texas courts have been extradited from Mexico. On Friday, Porfirio “H” was transferred to the Mexico City International Airport were U.S. federal agents escorted him back to Texas.

According to a statement from the State Attorney of the Republic (FGR), Porfirio “H” was wanted in the District Court of Gillespie County, Texas, for the crime of homicide.

“In November 2018, this person attacked his girlfriend with a knife in the face and neck, injuries that caused her death,” they said. Porfirio “H” was captured in San Felipe, Guanajuato, in May of this year.

Federal agents also escorted Howard “A” to Texas where he will face charges of sexual assault. According to the FGR, Howard “A” was wanted by the Court of Jefferson County, Texas, for the crime of qualified sexual assault.

His charges stem from “sexually abusing a minor.” Howard “A” was arrested in Mérida, Yucatán, in July 2022. After extradition requests from the U.S. were granted, both men were returned to face criminal proceedings.
