Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Playa del Carmen man has been sentenced to more than six years in prison for drug and firearm possession. The Public Ministry of the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) in Quintana Roo obtained the conviction Monday.
Erick “C” has been sentenced for carrying a firearm and possession of a variety of narcotics that included fentanyl.
Erick “C” was arrested after patrolling officers saw him run at their presence. He was intercepted by police on Los Olivos Avenue in Playa del Carmen. A physical inspection revealed the narcotics and firearm.
According to the police report, arresting officers located a .9 mm caliber pistol-type firearm with a magazine supplied with twenty-two useful cartridges without having the corresponding permit.
He was also found carrying doses of different substances among which were Cannabis Sativa L, Cocaine Hydrochloride, Ketamine, Methylenedioxyamphetamine, Methamphetamine Hydrochloride and Fentanyl.
He has been sentenced by a Cancun judge to six years, nine months and 15 days in prison. He will serve his time in the CERESO of the City of Cancun.
