Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — A passing tourist vessel near Isla Blanca reported the body of a lifeless man on Monday. The body of the man was found floating face down in waters off the Continental Zone of Isla Mujeres.
The captain of the boat who found the body notified the Navy who located the dead body in Isla Mujeres waters. He was removed from the sea and transported to their Puerto Juarez base.
Agents from the State Attorney General’s Office were waiting when the naval vessel arrived. The man, identified as Edgar N, is said to be around 50 years of age.
His body was found with several cuts to his shoulder and the back of his neck indicating he was possibly hit by a boat propeller. An autopsy will reveal the official cause of death.
