Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Playa del Carmen police were on scene Saturday afternoon where the driver of a car was shot to death while driving. The shooting happened in the Arco Vial Norte region of the city around 2:30 p.m.
Witnesses told responding officers that the driver of the car was chased for several blocks by subjects in another vehicle. Once they caught up with their target, they began shooting.
The driver of the car has been identified as Arturo A.C. who was the north zone coordinator for Colegio de Educación Profesional Técnica del Estado de Quintana Roo (Conalep). He was pronounced dead on scene by paramedics.
He was found behind the wheel of his car, which was located in roadside brush. The Mazda was pulled from the green area by a tow truck. Once in the open, it was found to be riddled with bullet holes.
