Cancun ranks among the highest gas station prices in the country

Cancun, Q.R. — Several gas stations in Cancun have ranked as some of the most expensive in the country. On Monday, the Federal Consumer Attorney Ricardo Sheffield reported the most and the least expensive fuel prices across Mexico.

He specified that on average, consumers are paying 21.91 per liter for regular, 23.82 per liter for premium and 23.22 per liter for diesel. He noted that last week, the cheapest regular gas price in the country was located at a Pemex pump in Úrsulo Galván, Veracruz, at 20.38 per liter.

The most expensive regular gas price was found in Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, at a Windstar pump charging 24.99 a liter followed by Pemex in Bahía de Banderas in Nayarit at 24.09 per liter for regular fuel.

A BP station in Cancun was noted as being one of the most expensive premium fuel prices in Mexico charging 25.12 per liter. The only other stations charging more is a Pemex in Guadalajara, Jalisco charging 26.50 peso per liter and Shell in Naucalpan, State of Mexico who was found charging 26.90 per liter.

The least expensive was G500 in Medellín de Bravo, Veracruz at 21.51 per liter of premium followed by LaGas in Mérida, Yucatán at 21.79 per liter for premium gasoline.

Sheffield reported that for diesel, a Pemex franchise, also in Cancun, was noted as charging one of the highest prices at 24.73 per liter, while Mobil in Tampico, Tamaulipas, was on of the lowest with 22.20 peso.

The very lowest price was found at two locations in Veracruz, one at a Pemex station and the other at a BP station, both selling diesel for 22.18 per liter.
