Cancun, Q.R. — A group of individuals arrested last week in Cancun are alleged to belong to a criminal organization from western Mexico. The announcement came from the State Attorney General, Óscar Montes de Oca Rosales Monday.
In a statement, he released details of their capture, who he says, are currently in the Center for Social Reintegration (CERESO) in Cancun.
He explained that last week, three of the members were arrested for the attempted kidnapping of two people. The three were caught on city surveillance footage, which helped lead to their arrest.
Montes de Oca Rosales narrated that hours after their arrest, two people from another cell of the same criminal group attacked municipal police officers in the streets with loaded weapons. With the help of city security cameras, they too, were arrested.
