Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The vaccination program for 18 to 29 year-old Playa del Carmen residents started successfully Thursday. Hundreds of youth lined up to take part in the federal health vaccination scheme for their age group.
For this particular group, Playa del Carmen health officials are applying the first dose of the Astra Zeneca vaccine. Mobile health centres opened at 8:00 a.m., at which time, lines of people were seen in Real Ibiza, the esplanade of the new Municipal Palace, in the Cruz de Servicios and at Luis Donaldo Colosio.
It was the second day in a row that this young age group generated long lines to get in on their first dose of the vaccine. On Tuesday, youth in José María Morelos began to form a line at 5:00 a.m.
Bu the time the mobile health unit opened, the line had extended more than six blocks. At the beginning of the week, Chetumal also began their youth vaccine program, but with little turnout.
