López Obrador says he is well and working from home while in Covid-19 isolation

Mexico City, Mexico — President Andrés Manuel López Obrador reported that he is in good health after announcing he tested Covid-19 positive on Sunday .

“Fortunately I am very well. I am working, I have already written two drafts for two speeches,” he reported on his social media.

López Obrador clarified that he did not present any affectation in the heart or brain nor did he lose consciousness, as has been reported in some local media.

He said he tested positive last weekend while on tour evaluating the construction of the Maya Train together with military engineers and public servants. He said during a tour, he experienced a drop in blood pressures, but that it did not require an emergency transfer to Mexico City.

“It got complicated for me because I went on a very intense tour that I started in Veracruz where there was a change in weather. I then went to Quintana Roo. I was in Chetumal, in Cancun, in Mérida and there I had a crisis because my blood pressure suddenly dropped,” he said.

López Obrador remains in isolation. He has not said when he expects to reappear in public. It is the third time he has tested positive for Covid-19.
