Woman charged with prostitution of others after three found in PDC house

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A woman who was arrested on allegations of the prostitution of others has been charged. On Thursday, Imer Lorena “N” was officially charged with human trafficking in the form of prostitution.

According to authorities, she was arrested from a Playa del Carmen house after being found with three women being held against their will. The house was searched and the woman taken into custody after an ongoing investigation.

Police say “Imer Lorena “N” was taken arrested after a search warrant was executed at a home located on Playa del Palmar Street, between Palenque Avenue and Hornos Avenue, in Supermanzana 29. Three women, suspected victims of human trafficking, were located and subsequently held there.

“Initial investigations indicate that the victims provided therapeutic massages and sexual services. For these activities, they charged 700 pesos for approximately 45 minutes. Of the money received, the establishment retained 500 pesos, which was given to Imer Lorena “N”.”

A judge has ordered Imer Lorena “N” to remain in preventive detention for two years or the duration of her trial.
