Tulum, Q.R. — A local family of four were taken to hospital Sunday after rolling their car. They were traveling the federal 307 highway when the driver swerved to avoid a rock.

National Guard and paramedics were at the scene Sunday near the community of Chemuyil just south of Akumal in response to motorist reports. The male driver of the car reported attempting to avoid a rock on the highway when he swerved and hit the concrete guard that caused his car to flip.
Emergency services arrived to an overturned car that had been demolished. Two of the treated were a 5 year old boy and his 11 year old sister. All four sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
National Guard flagged the area to control busy long weekend traffic while the vehicle was towed.
