Tulum mayor signs anti-corruption agreement

Tulum, Q.R. — “In the municipal administration, honesty is one of the principles that governs daily work, which is reflected in each of the activities of the officials,” said Tulum mayor Víctor Mas Tah during the signing of the Collaboration Agreement between la Fiscalía Especializada en Combate a la Corrupción and the Ayuntamiento de Tulum.

Accompanied by Rosaura Villanueva Arzapalo of la Fiscalía Especializada, he stressed that it is extremely important to continue strengthening transparency and accountability, while above all, fighting the corruption that damages society and governments around the world.

“All officials must know the Anti-Corruption System in Mexico, as well as the mission and vision of the Office of the Special Prosecutor in Combating Corruption of Quintana Roo, in order to perform according to its guidelines,” he said.

Mas Tah said he is convinced that working hand-in-hand with the prosecution and with the support of all members of the municipal administration, Tulum will continue to fulfill its obligations in a clear, transparent way, eradicating any form of corruption that may occur from any level.

“Let’s continue building a municipality of which we are proud. With the signing of this agreement, we will be giving society the certainty that we are fulfilling the word to which we commit when we present projects to the residents of this municipality.

“To comply with the guidelines of the prosecution will ensure positive results to the citizens,” he added.

Prosecutor Rosaura Villanueva Arzapalo stressed the importance of signing the agreement, noting that while it benefits citizens who deserve transparent governments with values, it also contribute to the eradication of corruption.
