Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Municipal Police authorities have arrested three people and secured a firearm with cartridges from a Playa del Carmen group stopped in a speeding vehicle.
The arrests of the three took place in the Centro del Playa Colonia neighborhood at dawn Tuesday while police were performing preventive patrolling. They report seeing the vehicle speeding through neighborhood streets, which was when they requested the driver pull over.
Upon approaching the vehicle, police noted a firearm on the center console of the car. All three inside were instructed to get out. A further inspection revealed the gun and cartridges. No one from inside the vehicle could prove legal possession for the firearm, which led to their arrests.
