Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Police have begun an investigation into the death of a woman found inside a Playa del Carmen apartment. Emergency services received the report of the finding of a dead body around 10:00 p.m. Sunday.
Municipal Police verified the discovery of the deceased body of an unidentified woman inside an apartment in the central Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood. Authorities have not provided any public information on the death.
Officers from GEAVI, the Grupo Especial de Atención a Víctimas de Violencia Familiar y de Género (Special Group for Attention to Victims of Family and Gender Violence), were brought in to investigate if the death was femicide.
