Puerto Aventuras, Q.R. — A child under the age of one has died after drowning in a bucket of water. The incident happened inside a private home in Puerto Aventuras Tuesday. The father, who was taking care of the girl, told police he noticed the inside of the house was suddenly very quiet.
When he went in search of his daughter, he found her upside down in a bucket of water. The accident took place at around 8:00 p.m. when the child apparently toppled over and landed head first in the bucket.
She was taken to the local medical facility, however, doctors informed the father that the girl was already deceased. Municipal police were called in. The father was taken into their custody for the death. An investigation is underway.
