Chetumal, Q.R. — Anyone from Quintana Roo wanting to cross over into Belize will have to prove a full set of vaccinations. According to the state’s Honorary Consul of Belize, Luis Montero, a double-dose of vaccines are required to enter Belize territory.
He said Belize has been asking for proof of vaccinations since the reopening of the land border on February 7. The land border between the two countries was reopened after nearly two years due to the covid-19 pandemic.
Montero also said that now that the border is opened, the hours to cross from one side to the other are from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. To cross, a valid passport is also required to obtain a regional visitor card.
Since the reopening of the border, approximately 350 people a day have been counted going back and forth.
