Mexico City, Mexico — President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced the departure of the Secretary of the Economy, Tatiana Clouthier Carrillo.
“She told me that she wants to withdraw from the government, but not from the fight for the transformation of the country, and we respect her decision. We insisted that she stay, but she is a woman with convictions, with criteria and has made this decision to leave the Ministry of Economy,” he said during his Thursday morning press conference.
The president pointed out that Clouthier Carrillo will continue with her personal and political projects in favor of the people of Mexico.
“She has supported us and, I repeat, we will feel her absence. (…) She will always continue with her convictions, defending justice and promoting the democratic political development of our country,” he added.
The former Secretary of Economy, Tatiana Clouthier Carrillo, thanked Mexico’s President Andrés Manuel López Obrador for the opportunity to work in the Government of Mexico for the benefit of the country’s development.
“Thank you for putting my skills at the service of the country and, above all, for showing me that when it comes to serving, there is no fatigue, illness or barrier that cannot be overcome,” she said.
Tatiana Clouthier reportadly left her position after feeling her “opportunity to add has been exhausted.”
AMLO reported that he will announce the new head of the Ministry of Economy on October 7.
