Taxi driver facing homicide charges in murder of woman found off Tulum highway

Tulum, Q.R. — A taxi driver who is believed to have driven a woman to where she was killed has been arrested. Agents from the Investigative Police (PDI) executed an arrest warrant against Tulum taxi driver Martín Félix “N”.

The body of Dulce Dalay “N” was found shot to death off a Tulum highway October 6.

He has been identified as a probable participant in the crime of aggravated homicide against Dulce Dalai, the young woman found murdered off a section of  Tulum highway October 6 after being killed the night before.

On Monday, authorities reported that upon his October 8 arrest, Martín Félix “N” was found in possession of marijuana and crystal meth. Their investigations revealed the key role of the taxi driver who is reported to have driven three men to intercept the young woman after she left a Tulum bar and force her into his cab.

According to prosecutor Raciel López Salazar, the taxi driver then drove the group to the vicinity of Laguna de Kaan Luum where she was found dead after being shot four times. Salazar explained that the motive for the murder was linked to a drug-related settling of scores.

The victim, Dulce Dalay “N”, was accused of stealing money from their criminal group. Both Dulce Dalay “N” and Tulum taxi driver Martín Félix “N” are reportedly from the same criminal network.

Martín Félix “N” was arrested pursuant to a court order and placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office. During his initial hearing, a judge ordered him into preventive detention while the investigation continues to identify and arrest the other three suspects. He is facing charges of aggravated homicide.
