Puerto Morelos firemen respond to second fire in same building in one month

Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — Firemen in Puerto Morelos were on scene late Wednesday after the report of a fire. Smoke was reported coming from the building by area residents in Pescadores around 11:00 p.m.

Emergency personnel arrived at the Comercializadora Corales del Mar Caribe seafood packing plant to deal with the fire. An on-duty security guard tried to put the fire out himself, but without luck.

Firemen were able to extinguish the flames which was reported in a wielding area. The night guard said he noticed the fire shortly after workmen left for the night. Only minor damage was reported.

It is the second time in one month that the packing plant has reported a fire. In April, Puerto Morelos firemen were assisted by Cancun firemen in putting out a warehouse fire that took more than two hours to extinguish.
