Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A judge has issued a charge against a Playa del Carmen man accused of bestiality. Authorities say Félix “N” was charged “for his probable participation in acts constituting crimes against the environment and wildlife.”
On September 28, Félix “N” was caught by neighbors having sex with a dog. He was on a property off the federal highway at an exit of the city where he was seen carrying the dog into the woods.
Neighbors later saw the dog crawl out of the woods, at which time they noticed it was injured. The man was held for police and the dog taken for medical attention.
Authorities said “the dog crawled out of the woods, prompting a neighbor to approach the animal and notice a lesion on its genitals. They found fur the same color as the dog on the man’s shirt.
“The injuries suffered by the dog are consistent with those caused by acts of bestiality, as the victim experiences chronic pain, irritation, and discomfort due to the degree of tearing of the genital mucosa.”

The judge imposed pretrial detention for the duration of the judicial proceedings.
