Cozumel, Q.R. — Patrolling military personnel along the east side of Cozumel have found 40 kilos of marijuana. The find was made Saturday along a section of sargassum-filled beach.
The two patrolling elements found the packages after noticing several black bags tangled among the seaweed. A further inspection lead them to the discovery of a total of 40 kilos, which was made available to the Prosecutor’s Office.
Less than two weeks ago, patrolling military personnel along the east side of Cozumel came upon 65 kilos of cocaine. The bricks of cocaine were also found washed up and entangled in an uncleaned section of island beach.
