Tulum, Q.R. — Repairs to the road connecting Punta Allen to the municipal seat of Tulum are approximately 80 percent complete. According to local resident Alejandro Velázquez Cruz, the road is essential for the transportation of residents and the development of economic activities.

Velázquez Cruz explained that the project has already improved traffic conditions for those entering and leaving Punta Allen. Although the repairs are not yet complete, he highlighted the progress made on access to the town.
He indicated that the community’s economy depends mainly on fishing and tourism, so the road conditions are important for both activities and for the daily mobility of its inhabitants.
Having a road in better condition, he added, facilitates travel for workers and visitors between Punta Allen and Tulum. Therefore, he considered the repairs an improvement for the community and the services it provides.
