Cancun, Q.R. — Authorities in Cancun have captured a Canadian reported unlawfully at large after being convicted of drug trafficking. The fugitive was also wanted locally for extortion and organized crime connections.

Robert Skojo “El Rob”, was arrested Wednesday from his home in the Cancun Hotel Zone by Mexican police. Authorities arrived at his home in the private upscale community of Isla Dorada where they proceeded to take him into custody.
Robert Skojo was located after police conducted three search warrants. Homes on Isla Alegre, Isla Amorosa, and Isla Romántica streets were searched by police, leading to the discovery of Robert Skojo.
According to Mexico’s Security Cabinet, “personnel from the Secretariat of the Navy, the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, and the Attorney General’s Office, in coordination with the Quintana Roo Secretariat of Citizen Security, executed three search warrants and arrested Robert “N”, the leader of a criminal group linked to drug trafficking, extortion, and organized crime.”
His capture was made possible due to an exchange of information with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Quintana Roo authorities. He is reported to have lived in Cancun several years before his Wednesday capture.
During the operation, Gabinete de Seguridad de México said police found two long guns, one handgun, 1.3 kilograms of marijuana and seized two vehicles and a mobile phone.
“These actions serve to weaken the operational structures of criminal groups and advance the fight against crimes that affect the safety of families,” the Cabinet said.

International investigations place Skojo as a priority target for Canadian authorities for serving as leader and logistics operator of a transnational criminal organization under the Hell Angels.
Robert Skojo was convicted of trafficking cocaine and considered dangerous by Canadian authorities who issued a “do not approach” warning.

The home where Skojo was arrested was seized and remains in federal custody as part of their investigation.
