La Paz, Baja California Sur — Eight tourists were rescued from a tour boat after it reportedly hit rocks and became stranded. On Wednesday, elements of the Navy responded to the call for assistance after vessel Mi Vida requested help off the coast of Baja California Sur.
The boat required assistance after it ran into rocks in the vicinity of Bahía el Mero in Baja California Sur and became hung up. The Port Captaincy of La Paz received the call for help, alerting the Navy of the collision.
The local Search and Rescue plan was activated with the departure of the Navy vessel and the rescue of the right tourists on board. The three women and five men were transferred to the Naval Search, Rescue and Maritime Surveillance Station of La Paz for a medical review before being released.
