Tulum, Q.R. — The driver of a pick-up truck died after colliding with a semi. The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. Thursday along the Tulum-Cobá state highway.
Responding officers noted that the driver of the pickup was heading toward Cobá when he invaded the oncoming lane and collided head-on with the semi trailer after falling asleep at the wheel.
The driver of the pickup died on scene, while the driver of the semi trailer suffered a head injury. State Police, paramedics and firefighters were on scene attending to the accident.
