Chetumal, Q.R. — The male driver of a semi-trailer was declared dead at the scene of an accident that happened outside the state capital city of Chetumal.
The tragic accident occurred on the Federal Highway when the driver of the unit, who was heading toward Bacalar, attempted to take a sharp curve at a high rate of speed. Unable to keep his semi on the road, the driver lost control, leaving the roadway and tearing his semi-tractor trailer apart while being ejected from the vehicle. He was run over by his own unit.
Authorities arrived at the scene to remove the unidentified body, while Federal Road and Rescue and fire brigades arrived to deal with the torn semi trailer.
