Chetumal, Q.R. — Businessmen in the southern region of Quintana Roo participated in a recent meeting to increase the economy in that region. The meeting was headed by Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa in the auditorium of the Canaco Servytur Chetumal.
There, the governor of Quintana Roo met with members of the Business Coordinating Council of the southern zone, directed by Eloy Stalin Quintal Jiménez, where she shared with them an x-ray of how the state receives and the strategic design of the transformation government.
Mara Lezama Espinosa emphasized that the previous economic and social model is exhausted, which is why a new Agreement for the Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo is being created to promote a profound transformation that reduces inequality gaps and generates shared prosperity.
“I am going to negotiate with the federation for more benefit programs for the people of Quintana Roo, according to the characteristics of the southern region, new projects that detonate the economy, bring more jobs and generate sustainable development,” she said.
She said she is heading a different administration, one which seeks to pay off the historical debt it has with Chetumal. Lezama also said that she will strengthen the project to detonate the Ixcabal archaeological zone with the support of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
