Costa Maya, Q.R. — A group of southwestern Ejidos have come to an agreement with the Secretary of State regarding a Maya Train stop. After weeks of debate, Ejidos from Laguna Om have agreed on a Maya Train stop point.
The new point will be approximately 17 kilometers from from the community of Nicolás Bravo and not in the community of Francisco Villa where the State had “moved” it from its original station.
The agreement was made behind closed doors in a community meeting between the affected Ejidos and State Secretary, Cristina Torres Sunday. The agreement means the Ejidos will no longer move forward with their protest road block.
The Maya Train station was moved by the government without notice last month after the group of Ejidos demanded compensation for the use of their land.
