Authorities track down criminal gang member with Tulum ties in connection to Cancun murder

Cancun, Q.R. — Personnel from the State Attorney General’s (FGE) office served an arrest warrant against a woman for murder. The woman, located in Guanajuato, was served an arrest warrant in coordination with the Attorney General of Guanajuato for her alleged involvement in aggravated homicide of a Cancun union leader.

Lesly María “N” was returned to Cancun Thursday night.

The woman, identified as Lesly María “N”, was arrested at a hotel near Ocampo and Zaragoza streets in the municipality of Tarimoro, Guanajuato Thrusday. She was taken into custody for her involvement in the August 4 broad daylight shooting death of Mario “N”, a Cancun union leader.

“According to the investigations carried out by the Investigative Police, Lesly María “N” allegedly participated in the murder of the union leader, collaborating with Luis Fernando “N” for whom an arrest warrant was recently served,” the state FGE reported Friday.

“The now-detained woman, who is linked to a criminal group responsible for violence in the municipality of Tulum and is part of a union organization opposed to the one led by the victim, allegedly provided the mastermind of the crime with the tools to commit the crime.

She was arrested in connection to the shooting death of a Cancun union leader.

“Following her arrest and compliance with all legal requirements, Lesly María “N” was flown to Cancun where she was placed at the disposal of the requesting authority,” they added.

Police say Lesly María “N” has criminal ties in Tulum.

The FGE says the recent arrest of Lesly María “N” brings the total of arrested to five, in connection to the August 4 murder.
