Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — An extortionist from Chetumal has been arrested in Playa del Carmen after leaving a threatening message at a local grocery store. Police took the 28-year-old into custody after the owner of the La Toscana greengrocer called them and reported the incident.
Information from the Ministry of Public Safety reported that the subject, identified as 28-year-old Jonathan Ambrosio N from Chetumal, was detained after leaving a handwritten “card” that contained a threatening message against the owner of the store.
Customers inside the store who witnessed him leaving the card said they kept an eye on him, slowly following him until police arrived. He was taken into custody on extortion charges for demanding floor right fees.
