Cancun police detain man alleged involved in passerby assaults using plastic pistol

Cancun, Q.R. — A man who was seen walking Cancun streets with a knife has been taken into police custody. He was arrested after attempting to assault officers when they located a knife and plastic gun on his person.

The incident occurred in SM 69 when police were alerted to the man on the street in the El Crucero area. When the man saw the approaching police unit, he tried to hide the knife. During his arrest, he physically attacked officers and damaged the police unit.

The man, 32-year-old Carlos N, was taken into custody. When subjected to a search, police located a plastic pistol and the knife. He is being investigated for his possible involvement for assaults on passersby in that area of the city.
