Cancun, Q. R. — A Cancun man was left for dead on a busy roadway after being hit by a truck. The man was driving a motorcycle when he was reportedly struck by the vehicle that kept going.
The accident was reported on a section of Arco Vial around 9:00 a.m. Thursday. The motorcyclist was heading toward Chac Mool Avenue when he was hit by the truck that, according to witnesses, swerved into his lane. Both vehicles hit head-on.
The man was thrown from his bike which was dragged for several meters by the offending vehicle. The motorcycle was found completely destroyed. Emergency responders found the dead man’s body on a side section of the road more than 10 meters from his motorcycle.
Personnel from the Traffic Directorate attended to the scene in SM 253. Some witnesses were able to provide a description of the vehicle that fled.
