Another 798,000 pediatric covid-19 vaccines arrive at Mexico City International

Mexico City, Mexico — A fourth shipment of covid-19 vaccines for young children has arrived in the country. The shipment of 798,000 Pfizer-BioNTech pediatric vaccines arrived at the Mexico City International Airport 6:00 a.m. Friday from Cincinnati.

The latest shipment makes a total of 4.2 million received in the last two weeks out of a contract for eight million. On Wednesday, Mexico received 1.2 million, its largest shipment of the pediatric covid-19 vaccine.

The Ministry of Health began the pediatric covid-19 immunization program on June 27 in 11 states. The vaccines, meant for use in children between the ages of 5 and 11, are being distributed around the country as part of Mexico’s ongoing vaccination program.

Vaccine programs for children aged 5 to 11 have already begun in several municipalities in Quintana Roo.
