Cozumel, Q.R. — Medical examiners from Cozumel removed the body of a young woman from an apartment complex in Cozumel Thursday after the report of her death. The 25-year-old female was found deceased Thursday afternoon inside an apartment in the Adolfo López Mateos neighborhood.
A man who was with the woman at the time of her death called emergency services. He said while inside the apartment, the woman suddenly collapsed and began to convulse. Paramedics were sent to her location, however, she died before they arrived.
An investigation into her sudden death is underway. Armando Pérez Pérez, commander of the Ministerial Police noted that the remains of a substance, possibly a narcotic, was found at the scene, but it will be up to the forensic lab to identify the substance and the medical examiner to determine her cause of death.
