Young child crushed by cement mixer in Tulum

Tulum, Q.R. — A three-year-old child has died after being hit by a cement truck in Tulum.

The accident happened shortly after 4:30 p.m. when the parents were riding bicycles along the coastal road. The young girl was on the back of her 33-year-old mother’s bike when she accidentally fell off just as a cement truck was passing.

The young girl was crushed by its tires and died on scene. The child and her parents, Craig and Gurpreet, were vacationing in Tulum from the U.K.

The cement truck was plated from the state of Guerrero. The driver reportedly fled the scene.

The Municipal Traffic Police report indicates that the truck, due to lack of driver caution, did not notice a cyclist and collided, causing an adult woman and a small child to fall.
