Woman trying to pass girdle of heroin as pregnancy, arrested

Tijuana, B.C. — A woman who claimed she was pregnant was arrested when she was found carrying a shipment of heroin strapped to her body. The woman was taken into federal custody inside the Tijuana International Airport of Baja California when officers noticed her attempt at evading them.

The incident happened in the baggage claim area of a commercial flight from Morelia, Michoacán. She was questioned by officers who noticed her evasive attitude. A female officer began an inspection of her person at which time, the woman claimed she was pregnant, however, the officer located a girdle that was concealing 720 grams of heroine.

Federal officials removed the drugs and arrested the unidentified woman who was made available to the Attorney General of the Republic.
