Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Security guards in the Playa del Carmen Social Retention Center say they arrested a female visitor after she was caught trying to smuggle a bag of drugs into the prison.
The arrest happened when the woman, who is reportedly from the state of Yucatan, entered the Retention Center of Playa del Carmen on an authorized schedule. However, when performing a routine check, a wrapped package was found in her clothes which contained drugs.
The woman was insured and consigned to the Attorney General of Quintana Roo who will determine her legal situation.
