Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A narcotics dog walking Playa del Carmen streets with her handler is responsible for an arrest. On Tuesday, narcotics dog Tina was participating in a routine foot patrol with her handler when she marked a blue suitcase.
The woman who owned the suitcase, 26-year-old Arantxa “N”, was located outside a central Playa del Carmen bus station. A review of her luggage lead police to locate 1,000 joints.
According to a report by the Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana (SSC) of Quintana Roo, arresting officers seized from inside her luggage “black boxes containing 25 transparent jars”. Inside the jars were a total of 1,000 rolled marijuana joints.
“The narcotics were seized by the police, while the woman was made available to the corresponding authority as a defendant,” the SSC agency added.
