Tijuana, Baja California — A man wanted for the shooting death of an Oaxaca man has been extradited from the U.S. The extradition happened Wednesday at the border bridge that connects San Ysidro, California, with Tijuana, Baja California.
U.S. authorities handed over Pedro “M”, who has been wanted by Mexican authorities since the 2013 shooting death. According to the State Attorney of the Republic, in June of 2013 in Huajuapan de León, Oaxaca, Pedro “M” shot and killed an man. He then fled to the U.S.
On Wednesday, the Government of the United States granted the extradition of the defendant to the Government of Mexico. He was handed over for extradition and transferred on a commercial flight to Mexico City where he will remain in custody for the duration of his trial.
