Tulum, Q.R. — Two people were shot early Friday morning during a confrontation on the roof of a Tulum hostel. Police were called to the hostel around 2:00 a.m. after receiving reports of two shootings.
According to preliminary information, a group from the hostel were partying on the third level (roof) when two men from the group began to argue. One pulled out a gun and shot the other. The shot male ran for the bathroom where he collapsed.
The shooter fled but was shot several times at the main front door of the hostel by an unidentified third person as he tried to escape. He was found laying on his back on the sidewalk outside the hostel. Police began a search for the second shooter.
Authorities have not said if the shot men survived or died.
The incident happened at a hostel on Andromeda Street near the area known as Mini Quinta. The shootings are reported to be drug related.
