Tulum, Q.R. — Two targeted attacks in central Tulum have left at least two people dead. Both attacks occurred within 30 minutes of one another with the first being at a centrally located restaurant around 10:00 p.m.
Witnesses said two men arrived on board a motorcycle and began shooting before fleeing. When the shooting stopped, one man was killed and two other restaurant goers, injured.
Approximately 30 minutes later, a second gunfire attack was reported at another centrally located restaurant. Witnesses to that shooting said in that instance, men arrived in a car and began firing. After fleeing the scene, one man from the restaurant was left dead.
At least one other person was hit by the spray of bullets and taken to hospital in serious condition. Authorities have not clarified if the injured person was an innocent bystander or part of the targeted attack.
Arrests in the shootings have not been announced. There is also no confirmation from authorities if the two shootings were related.
